REVIEW:
The Burbs and the Bees is a sweet and funny romantic comedy set in a small rural town in Nova Scotia. Alyson is a New York City native who suddenly finds herself the owner of an apple orchard and a menagerie of farm animals. She has no idea what she’s gotten herself in for but if she wants to keep hold of her trust fund she has to make a go of running a farm for the next thirty days. Enter Jay, her very attractive neighbor who seems hellbent on making sure she leaves ASAP. It wouldn’t be so bad if she isn’t finding the attraction getting stronger and stronger and not just for the farm but also for her neighbor.  The Burbs and the Bees is a fun romp between total opposites. This one is guaranteed to make you smile.

SYNOPSIS

I just inherited an apple orchard in Nova Scotia.

That’s definitely a sentence I never would have imagined saying in my life.

I’ve only ever been a socialite from New York, but that orchard is my chance to prove to my family, and myself, that I can do more. Be more. I may not exactly know what I want out of life yet, but I’m determined to stick to something—and no, I’m not talking about the bee farmer next door.

Here’s what I know. If I can’t tough out one full month of a rooster waking me at sunrise, a poolhall parrot with a foul mouth, and a llama that swings both ways, not only will I lose my self respect, I’ll lose my trust fund too.

Here’s what I don’t know. Why my neighbor with the bad attitude and a whole lot of sexy seems hell bent on sending me home. Well screw him. Not literally, of course. Except I just stumbled into his apiary, and got a look at the head beekeepers…stinger.

Switched by Cassie Mae was a funny and often frustrating read but highly entertaining. Kayla, Wesley, Reagan and Talon were all friends. Reagan and Talon were a couple while Kayla and Wesley, well they've been pining for these two since high school. Told from Kayla's point of view, she, dragging Wesley along hatches a plan to break the happy couple apart. Because as everyone can see Talon is her soulmate while Wesley is Reagan's. Thus starts the funs and the laughs and the musical chairs between the four. Kayla as a character was frustrating initially for me, I have no idea whether its because she was being an evil bestfriend to Reagan or she really was in love with Talon. I could not really hate nor empathize with her at the start. As the story progressed and the romance part began, her sudden self awareness becomes believable.
