One small town. Three close friends. True love to last a lifetime.
Voted Most Likely to Succeed, Melanie Bartlett ended up anything but. The down-on-her-luck single mom wants a complete do-over—is that too much to ask? With her family long gone from River Bend, strong, independent Mel is as surprised as anyone to end up in the quaint small town she once called home. But with her friends, Jo and Zoe, by her side, and a comfortable room at Miss Gina’s quirky bed-and-breakfast, she just might have turned the corner on a new life.
Wyatt Gibson never liked the big city. River Bend suits the ruggedly handsome builder just fine. Wyatt knows he’s home, even if that means being charmed by the appearance of Melanie and her spunky, adorable daughter. Is Wyatt’s calm devotion—even amid a coming storm—enough to convince Mel she may have found a home to call her own, a family that never leaves, and a true love to last a lifetime?
Review/Rating: 5 cups of sweet mocha with a dash of spice and excitement!
The start of a new series from the ever talented Catherine Bybee, Doing It Over is a story that begins with a familiar theme of coming home and reconnecting with friends and family you've left behind. A small town romance theme, flirting, sweetness and maybe a douchebag ex- coming back to just stir the pot a bit to affirm how right our OTP are for each other. Yup, this book is that and definitely more, because hello Catherine Bybee! It's never sweet and simple with Ms. Bybee, there is always an edge, a twist in an otherwise familiar trope. Romantic Suspense set in a small town is what Doing It Over is. This is a page turner and nothing is ever boring. Each page just hooks you in and makes you beg for more. As a romance it does satisfy but its suspenseful elements to get that elusive happily ever after that makes it extra special. And that darn kid Hope is just adorable! Definitely eager to read the next books!
