As Long As You Love (2B Trilogy #2) Me by Ann Aguirre
Football prowess and jaw-dropping good looks made Rob a star in high school. Out in the real world, his job and his relationships are going nowhere. He's the guy who women love and leave, not the one who makes them think of forever;until Lauren comes back to town, bringing old feelings and new dreams with her.
Because the only thing more important than figuring out where you truly belong is finding the person you were meant to be with.
Review:
As Long As You Love Me, the second book in Ann Aguirre's 2B Trilogy, is definitely an enjoyable new adult contemporary romance. Its small town girl going back home and starting a romance with her long time crush who just happens to be her best friend's older brother. Its everything you would want in a love story including the bitchy ex and the good looking gentleman hero. But As Long As You Love Me is definitely more, so very much more. Lauren is your typical college girl with a small town heart who also suffers from social anxiety which she has learned to hide successfully. That is until her coping with alcohol almost landed her in a very serious situation. Knowing that she can't survive the way she's been going, she's decided to pack her bags and move back home. She's got everything planned right down to switching majors and finishing her degree online. She didn't really see herself hooking up much less starting a relationship with her long time crush Rob. Rob has been dumped more times than he could count. Not because he was unattractive, in fact he was gorgeous and caring. The problem is he's known more for his looks and not his brains, he's the fling and not The One. Until Lauren came back into his life and showed him how he was more than that. Everything clicked in this book, the less than perfect but willing to work on themselves main characters, the story line, including the plot devices used to move the tale forward. The writing was always excellent, the reasoning for each argument and the inevitable decision made by the characters were frustrating yet was definitely true to life. The tone, the balance between high drama and cool humor was finely played that it was a joy to read. There were moments that felt that the pace was slow however where the story was going, this actually made sense. I love everything about this book and I am looking forward to reading the next one. Yes its another BSB song.
*This book runs parallel to the first one in terms of time line but can still be read as a standalone*
