BLOG Tour: A Life Less Ordinary by Victoria Bernadine

Contemporary Romance/Chick Lit
Date Published: December 2012

A Life Less Ordinary is one spectacular read with one great ensemble cast that will have you laughing, crying and basically asking the never ending question of what can you do to change your life. For Rose "Manny" Mankowski, being a 45 year single woman, who was ever dependable at work and never complaining change was some force bulldozing into her life. Never mind that she seems content on the outside, in the inside she has an invisible fantasy boy pal who seems to look like her ideal man and her life is nothing to be happy with. So she ups and quits her job and goes on a roadtrip exploring the great big USA with just a van, the support of her closest friends and yes a virtual stranger whose coming along for the ride so she won't feel so alone. Enter Zeke Powell, a snarky very good looking blogger with an accent, never mind he's been living in the US for the last two decades. He's coming along for the ride to expose that Manny is just a pathetic old maiden aunt trying to recapture her youth. Both embark on a journey for different reasons, both find out something about themselves in the process and both think the other isn't too bad at all. This was a fantastic well written novel about life, change, friendship, disappointment, family and love with an unexpected ending. As a reader it was truly engaging, entertaining and hilarious with moments of poignancy grounded in reality. A truly more than ordinary book.

About The Book:
For the last fifteen years, Rose “Manny” Mankowski has been a very good girl. She turned her back on her youthful fancies and focused on her career. But now, at the age of 45, she's questioning her choices and feeling more and more disconnected from her own life. When she's passed over for promotion and her much younger new boss implies Manny's life will never change, something snaps. In the blink of an eye, she's quit her job, sold her house and cashed in her pension, and she's leaving town on a six month road trip.

After placing a personal ad for a travelling companion, she's joined in her mid-life crisis by Zeke Powell, the cynical, satirical, most-read – and most controversial – blogger for the e-magazine, What Women Want. Zeke's true goal is to expose Manny's journey as a pitiful and desperate attempt to reclaim her lost youth – and increase his readership at the same time. Leaving it all behind for six months is just an added bonus.

Now, armed with a bagful of destinations, a fistful of maps, and an out-spoken imaginary friend named Harvey, Manny's on a quest to rediscover herself – and taking Zeke along for the ride.

About The Author:
Victoria Bernadine (a pseudonym) is, as the saying goes, a “woman of a certain age”. After

twenty-something years of writer’s block, she began writing again in 2008.

Victoria enjoys reading all genres and particularly loves writing romantic comedy and post-
apocalyptic science fiction. What those two have in common is anybody's guess.

She lives in Edmonton with her two cats (The Grunt and The Runt). A Life Less Ordinary is the

first novel she felt was good enough to be released into the wild.

Review Post: Fool Me Once by Catherine Bybee

Rating/Review: ☕☕☕☕ 1/2 (4.5 cups, this romantic suspense will give new meaning to The First Wives Club)
You never know what you really would be getting when reading a Catherine Bybee book.  On the outside, each book can definitely hold its own as a great contemporary romance novel.  Read a little bit further, you get well-defined, multilayered characters and a romantic suspense in the making. Pretty soon you will be amazed on the intricate storyline balanced well with the main characters developing romance.  Fool Me Once is definitely a Catherine Bybee book.  The first in her new series, First Wives,  Fool Me Once is also a spinoff from her popular Weekday Bride series.  And yet again, Ms. Bybee delivers in her great characters, well thought out plot and melding her two series together without one overpowering the other.
The story starts out as the head of Alliance and their legal go to person, Lori try to help one of their client who unexpectedly lost her husband.  To get her away …
