Her love has come along.
Amy Michaels loves her new life in Lucky Harbor. A waitress in the local diner, she's looking forward to her first weekend hike through the mountains. But when a wrong turn takes her off the trail, she finds herself up close and personal with forest ranger Matt Bowers. And even though she's tempted to kiss that sexy smile right off his face, she won't make the mistake of getting involved with the town heartthrob.
A former cop whose life went south, Matt doesn't let anyone get too close. But something about the feisty beauty caught his eye the moment he first saw her in the diner. After a hot night under a starry sky, Matt can't deny their attraction-or the fact that for the first time in a long time, he feels the stirrings of something more. Now it's up to Matt to help Amy see that, no matter what is in their past, together they can build a future in Lucky Harbor.

Lucky Harbor Series #6
Love can happen in a heartbeat.
Grace never thought she’d be starting her life over from scratch. Losing everything has landed her in Lucky Harbor, working as a dog walker for overwhelmed ER doctor Josh Scott. But the day his nanny fails to show up, Grace goes from caring for Josh’s loveable mutt to caring for his rambunctious kids. Soon Grace is playing house with the sexy single dad…
With so many people depending on him, Josh has no time for anything outside of his clinic and family–until Grace arrives in town. Now this brainy blonde is turning his life inside out and giving a whole new meaning to the phrase “good bedside manner.” Josh and Grace don’t know if what they have can last. But in a town like Lucky Harbor, a lifetime of love starts with just one day…

Meet the Chocoholics; Mallory, Amy and Grace. Three women who, one stormy night and stranded on a diner, took vows in front of a chocolate cake to live life fully. They have since moved on to chocolates pancakes, chocolate cupcakes, you name it, and all adhere to chocolate-related wisdom.

The Chocoholics girls follow after the Traeger sisters of the B&B. Amy and Mallory was mentioned already in the third book, Head over Heels, by way of introduction while Grace is new in town. They've stuck a friendship and meet often at Eat Me diner for their weekly chocolate meetings sharing their own stumbling blocks to happiness and fun.

So you bet things are going to heat up soon when their romantic interests show up who are also, oh well, friends. We know the small town intimate atmosphere makes things minuscule to the point of predictability but, hey, Jill Shalvis books are always fun, girly fun.

The men in her books, as noted before, aren't the usual polished, suit-wearing Adonis but rather workingmen. In the first book, Simply Irresistable, Jax shed the suit to be a carpenter. Ty, as it happens, is the Mysterious Cute Guy in the previous books, Matt is a colleague of Sheriff Sawyer (Head over Heels) being a forest ranger and Dr. Scott was mentioned once to have asked Chloe Traeger out (well, Sawyer would mind that!).

We get to meet old acquaintances too making cameos as well as the 'institutional' ones like, say, dear old Lucille (and her Facebook page!). It feels like one big warm community with its little ups and downs but the over-all cheerful and scenic atmosphere always win me over.

Jill Shalvis books display just the right amount of angst, struggle, romance, hilarity and sweetness. There's always something charmingly cute and fluttery on its pages, like, even if the person bestowing it is rather far from it. Shalvis never loses her wit and holds a firm ground on her stories which, despite its subtle dejavu sense, makes her stand out a little more in the realm of contemporary writers.
