Blog Tour: Feather Light by Lorenz Font
When Parker, a gifted masseuse, and Kelly, a celebrated actress meet, sparks didn't fly right away. Instead, Kelly poured out all her woes between sobs and mumbling while Parker, with his feather light touch continued to give her comfort. He was intrigued by this client in turn Kelly was mesmerized by him. The next time they meet, Kelly had an ulterior motive he was more than happy to oblige. What happens was steamy enough to make them realize they wanted more, but how far were they willing to reveal their secrets to get their happy ending.
Feather Light was an unexpected read in so many ways. It was a roller coaster ride of heat, sweetness, heartache and enough costumes and disguises to keep a theater company going. The writing was good, with great dialogues and insights regarding love and relationships. Parker's condition, that of gradually going blind, was tackled well. Kelly's plight as an actress who has no privacy in her life was also given some depth as to how invasive the media has become. This premise was well set, giving credence as how the two can meet and keep up secret identities. What was also great about the story was it was able to show how destructive they both were to each other and to their relationship, when as individuals they were unable to deal with their past hurts. The way Parker was trying to be upbeat about his condition, giving the illusion that he has dealt with it and the consequences of his blindness, when in fact it seemed to just fester. The way Kelly kept trying to keep Parker from finding out who she really was, convinced that it will only destroy what they had, like what happened to all her other relationships. This came to head in one scene that was disturbing to read. In a way there was dubious consent on Kelly's part which some readers might not agree with. The erotica aspect especially the kink factor was just on the light side of things despite the fact that Parker was into BDSM in the bedroom. Feather Light is an engaging read that most romance readers will like.
As part of the blog tour, The Writers Coffee Shop, has provided us with an exclusive excerpt from the book and a raffle giveaway for a copy of Feather Light.
Exclusive Excerpt:
Kelly skittered to the bathroom like a bunny on crack, eager to see what Parker had planned. She opened the box and marveled once again at his attention to detail. Pulling away the tissue paper, she giggled when she found the clothing he wanted her to wear. She held the garment up to her body and checked herself out in the mirror. The woman staring back at her looked happy and content.
“You see? If you hadn’t given him a chance, you’d still be having those wet dreams.” She stuck her tongue out at herself and stripped off her clothes, replacing them with Parker’s choices.
She tapped the bedroom door. “Parker?”
“Jane, is that you?”
“Yes,” she answered.
She eased the door open. Strategically placed candles cast a sublime, erotic glow across the room that made her heart race. Then she spotted him standing in the shadows.
“Let me take you back to the beginning of time,” he murmured just before he stepped into the glow of the moonlight streaming through the windows.
His magnificent body was covered by a loincloth. She devoured every inch of him, each contour and every tight muscle. The anticipation was killing her. She took a hesitant step forward, unsure what to do next.
“Safeword, woman!” he demanded.
