Review:
Bound by Night was an excellent read, definitely engaging and a wonderful start to what is obviously another fantastic new series by Larissa Ione. There isn't anything to dislike about this novel. The world building is excellent. Although dealing with the often written about vampires, the author tackles it in a totally unusual way. The addition of north american folklore and legends as an element to explain the existence of vampires is a nice touch. There is also science based reasons for vampirism, as well as social injustices, slavery and unethical experimental methods. Definitely a very different twist. The characters are fully fleshed out and very likable. Both Nicole and Riker's personal demons are handled in such a way that it doesn't appear overly dramatic. They simply flow with the plot. Secondary characters like Hunter, Myne, Katina, Grant and Lucy are fascinating as well. Ms. Ione excels in this, her characters are all memorable that you start wishing the next installment has already been printed. Obviously, this series will not be an exception. The pacing is just right with fast and bloody action scenes and witty and rapier sharp dialogues.  The eroticism associated with vampires and sex is definitely felt in each written word. Riker and Nicole's heated encounters must definitely be read with the AC at full blast. Overall, a truly entertaining read, looking forward to the next book.

Review Post: Fool Me Once by Catherine Bybee

Rating/Review: ☕☕☕☕ 1/2 (4.5 cups, this romantic suspense will give new meaning to The First Wives Club)
You never know what you really would be getting when reading a Catherine Bybee book.  On the outside, each book can definitely hold its own as a great contemporary romance novel.  Read a little bit further, you get well-defined, multilayered characters and a romantic suspense in the making. Pretty soon you will be amazed on the intricate storyline balanced well with the main characters developing romance.  Fool Me Once is definitely a Catherine Bybee book.  The first in her new series, First Wives,  Fool Me Once is also a spinoff from her popular Weekday Bride series.  And yet again, Ms. Bybee delivers in her great characters, well thought out plot and melding her two series together without one overpowering the other.
The story starts out as the head of Alliance and their legal go to person, Lori try to help one of their client who unexpectedly lost her husband.  To get her away …
