Run To You by Charlotte Stein

Run To You
Run To You was not what I expected. Although the premise seems simple enough, an innocent woman dissatisfied with life who meets an eccentric billionaire for a sexual tryst in a hotel room, at the hands of Charlotte Stein, it becomes something else. The term psychological foreplay comes right to mind while reading this novel. Told in the first person point of view, Alissa does not only become a relatable character but as you continue reading there was a sense that you were her. Privy to her thoughts, her feelings, her lust and yearnings, how she views herself, how she feels ridiculous when faced with all her drama, you are given a character that is fully fleshed out with all her flaws and all her humanity. Janos, as well, is given depth to his character despite the fact that its just glimpses of what Alissa sees in him. This pulls you right into the story, you are not just engaged but fully invested in the events that are unfolding. Although considered erotica, its not as sexually graphic as some novels but this only highlights the author's talent in weaving together a tale where the words does the seducing.  In that sense this is truly erotica, the play of feeling, the lingering touches, the sensuality in each encounter. The romance plays as both real life scenario subtly blended with an almost fairy tale like ending that is as unique as the talented author.

*Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing the ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review*

Book Summary:

Alissa Layton leads a dull and ordinary life, safe in routines, with no plans to escape. But when she meets businessman Janos Kovacs, and is introduced to his kinky lifestyle, Alissa's entire world changes…

She uncovers a hidden world of secret assignations and kinky meetings between like-minded high fliers at an exclusive hotel. But the businessman Alissa spies on seems far too handsome, sexy and worldly for someone like her, and he's into the kind of things she's not sure she can do.

Janos Kovacs has spent so long indulging in emotion-less dalliances that he's forgotten what real passion is. But the more time he spends with Alissa, the less control he has over himself. By the time he's finished teaching how deliciously naughty sex can be, he might be the one learning the lessons …

Rating/Review: ☕☕☕☕ 1/2 (4.5 cups, this romantic suspense will give new meaning to The First Wives Club)
You never know what you really would be getting when reading a Catherine Bybee book.  On the outside, each book can definitely hold its own as a great contemporary romance novel.  Read a little bit further, you get well-defined, multilayered characters and a romantic suspense in the making.
