Danielle Monsch has crafted a fantastic world, introduced in Stone Guardian, the first book in her Entwined Realms series. Stone Guardian, opens with the human realm colliding with the magical realm. Supernatural creatures have invaded due to some unknown occurrence and 26 years later, the world has changed. The romance between Larissa, our ordinary but spunky human, and Terak, gargoyle shifter and leader of his clan has sometimes been overshadowed by the world that the author has created. The dialogue is clever and quick witted, the sensuality can definitely be felt along with the sizzling chemistry but the other characters with super human strengths, magical abilities and questionable fashion sense (*cough* Laire*cough*) do stand on their own, making the readers curious as to what happens next. Like any first book in a series, Stone Guardians serves as an introduction and whets your appetite for the next book. A good story and potentially looking like a great series.

Book Summary:
 Gryphons flying past Skyscrapers? Wizards battling it out in coffeehouses? Women riding motorcycles with large swords strapped to their backs? All normal sights since the Great Collision happened twenty-six years ago.

Larissa Miller may have been born after the Great Collision, but as a history teacher who lives in the human-only city, she has never come into contact with any other race or species. That is, until one day she walks out of her apartment only to be attacked by a mob of Zombies, but then is saved by a Gargoyle.

Leader of the Gargoyles, Terak has been watching over the human woman for months because of a cryptic prophecy. Switched by Cassie Mae was a funny and often frustrating read but highly entertaining. Kayla, Wesley, Reagan and Talon were all friends. Reagan and Talon were a couple while Kayla and Wesley, well they've been pining for these two since high school. Told from Kayla's point of view, she, dragging Wesley along hatches a plan to break the happy couple apart. Because as everyone can see Talon is her soulmate while Wesley is Reagan's. Thus starts the funs and the laughs and the musical chairs between the four. Kayla as a character was frustrating initially for me, I have no idea whether its because she was being an evil bestfriend to Reagan or she really was in love with Talon. I could not really hate nor empathize with her at the start. As the story progressed and the romance part began, her sudden self awareness becomes believable.
