Friday Night Alibi by Cassie Mae

Friday Night Alibi
Friday Night Alibi, is a total surprise. This New Adult story about Kelli and Chase, totally hits the right notes for me. Told from Kelli's POV, the plot seemed simple enough, young love in bloom, amidst the pranks, banters and total denial of mutual attraction. Kelli is trying to keep emotions out of every equation, to compensate for her parents apparent indifference.   She tries to act cool but has made it impossible to take part in life when she started her business of being everyones Friday Night Alibi.  That is until she meets Chase. Chase who's all things un-Sundale.  This is a very refreshing read compared to other books from the same genre.  Filled with humor and funny moments, it still manages to pull at your heartstrings and root for Kelli to get her head out of the equation and just go for that kiss!  Innocent for NA but even that fits with the story.   There is still that sense of passion but its an underlying simmer which works since its the emotional connection that seems to be the focus. But the kissing, the kissing was way up there! Definitely recommended for those who love and miss those lighthearted young romances.  Its not fluffy or trite but just right.   Ice Cream contract for first kisses is definitely a must have.
Rising star Cassie Mae introduces New Adult readers to a practical soon-to-be college freshman who seems to have everything—until a special guy shows her what she’s been missing.
In the wealthy town of Sundale, Kelli Pinkins has hatched the perfect plan to capitalize on her sweet reputation. For a generous fee, she will be every trust-fund baby’s dream: a Friday-night alibi, the “girlfriend” or “BFF” that parents dream about. With college approaching in the fall, Kelli’s services are in demand more than ever, which means that her social life is nonexistent. But Kelli is A-okay with that. She’s raking in cash for school. Besides, relationships are tricky, and sometimes very messy. She’d rather be at home on Xbox LIVE, anyway. Then the unexpected happens: She meets college stud Chase Maroney.
Chase isn’t like the preppy, privileged guys Kelli usually meets in Sundale. For starters, he’s twentysomething, always wears black., and he shoots back one-liners as fast as she can dish them out. But Kelli’s attempts to drive Chase away falter when she realizes that he treats her like he reallyknows her, like he cares about knowing her. When Kelli finally gives in to the delicious kiss she’s been fighting for so long, she faces a tough decision: make Chase a real-life boyfriend and risk her heart . . . or keep her clients and lose her first true love.
