Review Post: Fool Me Once by Catherine Bybee

Rating/Review : ☕☕☕☕ 1/2 (4.5 cups, this romantic suspense will give new meaning to The First Wives Club) You never know what you really would be getting when reading a Catherine Bybee book.  On the outside, each book can definitely hold its own as a great contemporary romance novel.  Read a little bit further, you get well-defined, multilayered characters and a romantic suspense in the making. Pretty soon you will be amazed on the intricate storyline balanced well with the main characters developing romance.   Fool Me Once is definitely a Catherine Bybee book.  The first in her new series, First Wives,  Fool Me Once is also a spinoff from her popular Weekday Bride series .  And yet again, Ms. Bybee delivers in her great characters, well thought out plot and melding her two series together without one overpowering the other.   The story starts out as the head of Alliance and their legal go to person, Lori try to help one of the...

Review Post: Beg, Borrow or Steal by Susie Tate

Rating/Review: ☕☕☕☕ (4 delightful cups!) Beg, Borrow or Steal is one totally fun ride, not just because of the funny and quirky characters and a plot that is more than the usual in the romance trope but also because of one strong and fantastic female lead.  This is one heroine that doesn't need a prince to rescue her from her circumstances she just wants somebody to really respect her despite it.  Libby is not the usual med student making rounds and learning how to be a doctor.  She is a single working mum on top of being a full-time student.  When she meets Jamie, he thinks she's a party girl especially when she keeps falling asleep during his rounds.  As he gets to know her and her adorable little girl he can't help falling for her and wanting to help her.  But Libby has a little secret she hasn't told him, it's something that most men won't really be comfortable with.  Unfortunately, her secret got spilled in the most spectacular wa...

Cover Reveal: Cracks Duet by L.H. Cosway

Image
Take a look at L.H. Cosway's Cracks Duet book covers! So,hypothetical scenario. An alien species comes to earth, but we share no common language. We can only communicate through pictures and sounds. At first, they see our art, hear our music, gaze upon our sacred lands and they’re dazzled by the beauty. But then, as they explore deeper, they see all the stuff we’d prefer to hide; the pain, the cruelty, the pointless wars. If you were one of the aliens, would you let us live or wipe us out? Heavy question, I know, but I didn’t always think this way. Life used to be simple. I was a typical city girl with small dreams that were big enough for her. Then I met Dylan O’Dea. He changed how I saw the world, opened my eyes. For him, the sky was always falling. I guess that was why he achieved so many great things. The constant fear of catastrophe was an excellent motivator. It’s kind of poetic that he came back to me 16 minutes and 59 seconds into Beethoven’s Symphony...
